Donna Ida is a specialist jeans emporium that sells designer jeans, tops and accessories.

After a recommendation from another fashion client (we love clients who have nice things to say about us!) Donna Ida came to us with the challenge of rethinking their online offering from the ground up including the strategy, user experience , design and technology. 

Whilst Donna Ida already had an existing site there were issues with the site structure and design – making it hard for users to view and purchase products easily - leading to the site delivering poor commercial performance . Managing content and product information was also frustrating and with the site being unstable on top, Donna Ida had lost faith in digital.

Online is a key channel for Donna Ida allowing them to cater for a much wider international  audience than their physical boutiques. But its not just about sales – our challenge was to recreate the personality of the brand along with the unique experience that every customer receives when they visit a boutique in person, where denim experts work on a 121 basis to ensure you find the perfect pair of jeans for you.

Solution:

We took a new direction for Donna Ida online making it ‘not just a shop’ but somewhere users can come to keep up to date with the latest in denim and fashion as well as get advice about the right jeans for them.

In that vain the site has a magazine format that allows Donna Ida to show off both the product and their expertise. Coupled with this we introduced product pages that showcase the product and cross sell more effectively. Beyond the products pages we optimised the checkout process to ensure maximum sales were achieved.

To replicate the ‘in store’ personal service we also introduced interactive video guides to finding the right jeans for your shape (with the facility to purchase within the video), as well as the ability to send in a picture of yourself and for the team to suggest the perfect fit. The site is also closely integrated with all the Donna Ida social channels.

The platform we chose to base this on was Magento – providing a cost effective ecommerce solution that we felt provided the foundations to take Donna Ida into the future.

Results:

A whopping 60% increase in monthly revenue!
