Neil Collard has been appointed new MD at e3 - one of the UK’s leading independent digital agencies.

The appointment follows the departure of e3 Founder and former MD, Stuart Avery, who has stepped aside after fifteen years to pursue new opportunities. Collard will be responsible for growing the business substantially over the next three years and building upon e3’s solid reputation, managing the London and Bristol offices and further enhancing e3’s reputation for developing successful creative solutions to business challenges. He is a strategic heavyweight with fourteen years’ experience in the industry – six of those with e3. Collard has had successful stints across client services, new business and strategic functions for the agency, as well as playing a leading role in the senior management team in dictating the direction of the agency for the last four years.

Collard embarked on his new media career in 1998 with AKQA, in the account team on the BMW group business, and worked on the first websites for Land Rover, Rover, Mini and MG (all global and UK sites), as well as the BMW GB site. In 2000 he joined Good Technology as a digital strategist and spent six years developing and implementing the digital strategy for Audi UK – one of the UK’s most awarded automotive sites. He also worked as lead strategist for some of the UK’s largest and most successful sites including, Bentley, Canon EMEA,, Levis EMEA, Premier Travel Inn, RNLI and Save the Children.

Collard said:
“e3 is one of the most exciting independent digital agencies in the UK – with a strong offering as a creative agency with a business brain. I believe we have some of the best talent in the industry and look forward to continuing to work together in this new role to increase our clients’ fame and help unlock their digital potential.”

During a transition to the new role, Collard has already overseen a number of significant new business wins for BP, Orange and Bristol Airport, and an increase in spend from existing clients such as Kia UK and Land Rover. He is also investing heavily in the team. Melissa Thom has been appointed as Marketing and PR Manager to help build e3’s fame. The agency has also recruited David Barker as Senior UX Consultant and is planning further recruits to bolster the creative and client service teams.

Stuart Avery, Former MD and Founder of e3 said:
“Neil has been an invaluable asset to e3 and his input has been instrumental to our current success, with a 20% growth in revenue for the first half of the year. I have every confidence he will successfully drive the agency’s continued growth”.
